La Santé

The slow way

La Santé is a creative release for two brothers. A family business. Primarily, something constructed for us to spend more time together. An obsessive manner of creating something for friends, family, and everyone in between to enjoy.

Each garment is made one at a time, with meticulous attention to detail. Design draws inspiration from military and workwear. Textiles are carefully chosen and intended to age with dignity throughout your life.

Garments are designed, patterned, and sewn in Bozeman, MT.

We produce garments we and our friends want to wear. We market in a way that appeals to us.

Dichotomy

La Santé takes its name and logo from the most infamous prison in France. Situated in the heart of Paris, the dark, ominous walls of La Santé are in stark contrast to the artsy district that surrounds it. The world outside the walls smoothed by gentrification. The laughter of children at the neighboring school melds with the shouts of prisoners. Referred to as the “city within a city” La Santé has its own rules and governance unbeholden to the civilized community outside. Now, a different world exists. One that leaves La Santé in a bygone era, becoming a sort of folklore in the mind of Parisians.

Like the resolute walls of La Santé we remain unaffected by time. While fashion tumbles viciously through cycles, certain things just look good. They have always looked good.

These are the things we make.
